Teacher, mother, secret lover.

Glee - Season two has been filled with special guests like Gwyneth Paltrow (Sliding Doors) John Stamos (ER) and songs that have been their own and even Miss Pilsbury got her singing.

Psych  - I know it's on a break at the moment but I can't wait till the season kicks off to see what Gus and Shawn get up to, we find out last time that Carlton 'Lassie' Lassiter cottons on to the fact that Juliet and Shawn are dating, now that was a classic!

Community - What can I say about this show, it is witty, touching and downright hilarious with Chevy Chase, the first one that I recognised and the rest of the cast who lighten my day, especially Abed and Troy doing their raps. This season there have been special guest Betty White (Golden Girls), Iqbal Theba (Glee) & Levar Burton (Star Trek)

'Pop, Pop'

Castle - is always a joy with an excellent cast and judging from the work that Ryan and Esposito are doing Beckett will be retiring off to make babies with Castle ;) well I'm not sure that the writers will be up for that but I am sure that there should be a transitional episode where they turn into Hart to Hart, Oh wait I was thinking about 'Chuck', now that seems to be not sure where it is going :(

The Big Bang Therory - I have started to re watch second season only because it's really good and it gives me opportunity to knit and I know for a fact that I have totally missed some of the jokes and still laugh at the ones that I have forgotten about.

Tried and tested shows recently - with star ratings (5 Good-1 Bad)

Deciding whether or not I have enough wool....

My goodness I finally got to Matthew's in Firth Park, its a nice shop with all wools that are UK based, which isn't such a bad thing because of the area, I'm guessing that is how they have survived,so I bought some more wool for the not so scrap blanket - I even got a dark green because I'm not just making it for me, so I got three 100g balls.

It's going well, the only thing is I went out and lost my hook, I know I wanted to get some different ones but I could do without it.

I have also been catching up on my TV, It's been The Big Bang Theory, - Seeing Jackie as Sheldon's mom was hilarious, How I met Your Mother - Barney made me cry when he confessed to Lily that he loved Robin, Desperate Housewives has got good again, Veronica Mars and Without a trace, Still plowing my way through second season of VM, but still not sure if I haven't missed any as the BTVision seems to just delete randomly and of course Glee.

TV crafting

Well if you haven't guessed yet, I do like my TV and it makes me go squee every time I see a garment big or small that I can either knit or crochet so imagine my great please when I saw two things, a crochet blanket in Gossip girl and no less than two scarves worn by Det. Beckett and Richard Castle, although it looks more like felting than anything, which I know nothing about, I'm still trying to get my head around socks and blocking!

Castle,  with the episode called Love me dead, gives us a nice shot of the two walking down the hall.
....and as a side point, I'm still waiting for a UK showing - com'on Channel 5 sort it out, there is a space on FiveUS, there have been plenty cancelled shows since Castle was first aired in the States!

Gossip Girl, The Freshman.
Now this was a fly-by shot, blink and you'll have missed it, but my eagle eyes found it - I think our daughter is getting the better of me and making my find pink things all over the place!!

Well nobody has turned up with anything knitted but it's The mentalist and I am loving it this season, so here is a picture of Simon Baker as Patrick Jane and if you haven't seen The mentalist, it's like watching Derren Brown if he was cynical. it is showing on Hallmark on Wednesdays 1pm, 2pm 6pm & 7pm. Normally shown on Five or FiveUS, there has been no confirmation dates for season two yet.

Flash forward coming to Five

Been looking forward to this - new TV is always a call for good news :)

Starting on Monday 28th 2009, on five at 9pm.

Also coming to Five, 10 things I hate about you, I think I might catch that too.

About:
When a mysterious event causes the entire world to black out, humanity is given a glimpse into its near future, and every man, woman and child is forced to come to grips with whether their destinies can be avoided or fulfilled.

Source: Five website

As a side point, I found this, it has a very young Jewel Staite in this show!! I never saw it, I guess it was just broadcast in Canada, it looks a little bit like 'Why don't you'.

New stuff

They have re-done Fame, now showing at the cinema, I really am quite enraged, even though I have only watched it once but the time is to stop having feel good musical movies - I have had enough, what next, Grease?

I have now watched the first season of Psych which wasn't too bad.

Highlights:
Filmed at Toronto Space Center
The Blue Toyoya Yaris
Other actors, Patricia Idlette, Christine Willes & George Takai.

House with an extra tib-bit

Ever closer to the first episode of a new season House is on his way, and looking like he's getting into a whole heap of trouble with the staff and everyone else around him - I wouldn't expect anything else :)

Catch up TV

I have nearly finished the scarf but I think I will need another ball of wool for it otherwise I won't have ant left for the tassels which in my opinion makes a scarf.

I am playing catch up with Gossip girl as I haven't seen it for the longest time and to be quite truthful, I did miss it and it looks like the episode that I just watched is just as jam packed as usual to the shenanigans of the Upper Eastsiders.

Episode title: Southern Gentlemen prefer blonds 2x22

Blair going back out with Nate and NYU and having to use the subway.
Rufus with money problems.
Blair goes out on a job of spying - what is more concerning is that Doroda has got a full kit of spying stuff.
Nate goes all teritorial.
Georgina is back.
Chuck is up to his old trick, in fact I don't think he was ever out of them.
Dan and Vanessa get wasted.

TV today

Burn Notice - Long way back, 3x09
Fi & Michael break up and then he finds out that she is being hunted down and taken back to Ireland by an old acquaintance. Madeline meets Strickland by him coming over to the house which she has decided to put on the market. In this episode there was dodgy accents all over the place, thank goodness Sam wasn't in on the act although it was funny when Sean, Fi's brother said that his American accent was no good.

Leverage - The Fairygod parents job, 2x04
The group takedown a business man who has ripped off a whole lot of people including a clinic that because of his actions have the impending closure looming over their heads in a week. The plan is that they take over a school and pretend that they are academics, but Parker and Hartison get recognised by the PD cronnies from another scam that was pulled. Sophie Deveraux spends the entire episode telling the truth. To me I find it very strange that without any prompting these two shows have decided to use accents as the main bulk of their story-telling. Nathan was a German professor, well it sounded German, I couldn't tell if it was that or Swiss and Hartison played a Nigerian with a bright yellow crochet hat on. This Episode was also directed by the one and only Johnathan "Riker" Frakes, I was half expecting number one to mess it all up, but it wasn't that bad... not that I'm a Next Gen Star Trek fan or anything, you know :)

True Blood
- Release me, 2x07
This is getting better and better, I was gripped and I have even got better to know when the roody bits come on, I can look away....anyway last week Sookie and Hugo are captured by the church fanatics and they think that Jason is in on it too, but bless him, he's thick as two short planks that have been left out in the rain and doesn't know what else is going on. Sam on the other hand is mad as hell due to Maryann (Ensign Ro, she was in Trek too ;)) overtaking the town with her nefarious ways, Sam and Andy Bellfleur, the alcoholic cop, who I think has some sort of past with his family or him personally to do with the vampires, has no effect on her powers....

The blanket in True Blood

There seems to be a whole load of blankets in True blood but there is one particular one that Lafayette is wrapped around that does look rather nice - I think my new thing is finding blankets that I could crochet.

The learning curve is getting better and the circles don't look as messy as it was when I first started, still not been out to get some batteries for the camera, need to get some before we go visiting the relatives.

TV enjoyment

Five is showing a new show to me called Medical investigation, a cross between Criminal Minds & CSI and although it has been cancelled I have seen the actors in Desperate Housewives, Lie to me and Jake 2.0 (I really feel for and admire this guy, every show that he has been in has been cancelled, I hope that he will get more success). The show is being show on Five at 12:50pm Mondays, starting with season one.

The Beast on Five, Patrick Swayze as a Chicago cop. There are other actors but, I have never heard of them.

Legend of the seeker
, Based on Terry Goodkind's fantasy books. Starts 13th August on Scifi, at 8pm

Deadwood - He will always be Lovejoy to me but Al is a great character. I saw all of Season one but missed season 2 and 3. Is now showing season one, on Sky3 12:00am so you can play catchup, I am sure I will.

Everwood - E4 8:10am Mon 10 Aug. Showing Season one, always nice to watch, it's throw away TV where I can pick and watch anytime and I really don't need to know what has happened, its a bit like Neighbours and Home & Away.

Third & Bird - great show, especially for kids who love to sing along and there is the sweetest lovebird called Muffin.

Show me, show me - Chris and Pui are back and getting the kids listening to stories, dancing, singing and a great short called Penelope who sproglet 4 loves to bits.

TV news

This might be good if I was still watching Bones. It's still unconfirmed but I thought I would put it into the ether.

Spoiler Geeks

Season 9 of Smallville will be starting on CW on the 25th September 2009, with the added bonus of Callum Blue being in this season & True Blood renewed for a third season, whoo-hoo!!!

What's new for TV and DVD

Dollhouse, season one will be out in the UK as of the September 7, 2009 Amazon.co.uk are selling it.

True Blood Season 1 will be released on 26 Oct 2009

Big Bang Theory - Season 1 [DVD] [2007] - Good show, shame about the canned laughter, it would make it so much better without it.

Everyone should see this
Chuck - Complete Season 1 [DVD] [2007]

Dexter - Yes, season 4 for this sickening show, I mean what pleasure can be watched by a serial killer going about his business *shudders* Anyway the season promo picture is him holding a baby with a bib on with the writing "My Dad is Killer" - real nice!!!

TV watching

Well, I haven't been around for a few days, I blame it on the wool - yes I pulled a ball of wool apart and now I have a whole jumble of mess. I'm hoping that I will be able to salvage at least a little of it, just because I can't afford to waste wool....anyway, I have been spending the time doing that, watching shows.

True Blood
S1x1 Strange Love
1x02 The First Taste
1x03 Mine
I really tried with this show, I thought I could cope with the graphicness of the show but sadly I can't, so I will leave it to others to watch.

Burn Notice
3x06 The Hunter, as always Sharon gless is the star, when Michael gets kidnapped the two others, Sam and Fi spend the time arguing about what to do while she finds and adequate way of getting information out of their captor.
3x07 Shot In The Dark, a kid is found in Fiona's appartment looking for a gun to go get his step dad, but Fi, Sam and Michael step in and save the day with what can only be described as a genius scam. Michael desperately wants to get back into the agency, so he does a little scouting around.

Leverage
2x01 The Beantown Bailout Job. Bailing out the banks again I hear you say?! Oh yes, the season starts off with a banker, the Irish Mob and shooting, gldly everyone is okay.
2x02 The Tap Out Job What seems to be the obligotory fighting episode, it's done here where The team find themselves in Nebraska getting to know a greedy boxing Coach/Gym Owner.

Mock The Week
- Why watch the news, just see this, it's far more entertaining. This Topical news show is well worth the watch and good for a laugh.

You Have Been Watching The new show presented by the man who brought you Screenwipe and Dead set, has now got a show all for himself with panalists/guests/people he can shout at if he doesn't like their opinion, but I guess that's just the show. All in all I think you might as well just watching the shows to you are able to make a decision for yourself, at least it's better than watching this show.

Damn, I just found out that they are showing Lie To Me on Thursdays at 10:00PM on Sky1

True Blood 1x01

A new show, and opportunity to watch it. True Blood is all about a girl, that's a waitress in a bar, who has a fascination with a new vampire that has come into town....true enough it's no Buffy, but if they can get rid of, for me, graphic sex, the cello music every time the vampire comes on the screen and is that a belt or a skirt that Sookie is wearing?! having said that, I think it will be a very good contender for the vampire genre, at least a whole lot better than Vampire in Brooklyn, with Eddie Murphy.

The first part before the credits starts rolling made me laugh out loud, really, the fangs were ridiculous. I hope that there is more humour like that, I think the point that was that anybody can be a vampire, even rednecks.

The actors are pretty good, there is an English actor who plays the lead vampire Bill, Sookie the waitress, the Brother, Jason, AKA Vinnie Patterson from Home and Away, (sorry not really knowing what his really name is) & Alan Ball who can do no wrong in my eyes as he created & wrote Six Feet Under and wrote for Cybil, so it's all good :)

kids TV - the question of the day is....

Is there a run of pink elephants in plasticine? you know these are the questions that I need to know. first we had Mio Mao (all about two cats who get up to adventures in their plasticine world) who was chasing after a pink elephant covered in mud, but they sorted the elephant out, which by the end of the short is a good thing. I hope that soon that they will release it on DVD because it's one of the enjoyable shows that three year old watches and talks about when its not there....anyway I digress...yes and there was Pocoyo with Elly the pink elephant, although I must say that Elly was far more sophisicated than Mio Mao's elephant, she knows how to dance like Britney.devilyouknow

TV News

Currently watching:

Burn Notice
Michael Westen (Jeffery Donovan) A spy who has been put onto a burn notice tries to find his way back in with the help of his pal, Sam (Bruce Campbell), girlfriend (Gabrielle Anwar) and mom Madeline (legend that is Sharon Gless). currently being aired in the states, and now being shown on FX, a premier channel with Sky on Fridays, 11pm from 17th July 2009.
I was trying to work out what was wrong with the tagline "Spies don't get fired, they get burned" then realised that it's supposed to say burnt - well if you are in England any way :)

Everyone is talking about Torchwood, I never really got into it, not even James Marsters got me to watch it, but it looks like a big finale.

Sad news: Without A Trace will not be renewed. It is sad but they had a good run and I hope to see the actors in other shows, films etc. ER is gone too but they had an even longer run that other shows, but I guess there is always DVDs :) Missing Castle, is that sad?!

Exciting news: Castle will be showing the second season on ABC on Monday, 21st September, 2009 at 10pm. Leverage will be back on for a second season too in the states, so looking forward to what they do with the characters.

Been watching The Mentalist on 5, Mondays at 10pm and loving it. The Guardian, I have yet to try, let's see if Simon Baker can actually act.

Gossip Girl is getting interesting, there has been a bit of role reversal with S and B, so I would like to see how that turns out for them and the added bonus of a spin-off with Rufus and Lily, which I think is in the pipeline.

Smallville, I'm really excited about, they have cast Callum Blue as General Zod, even though I think that with the recent movie (which they really messed up) they should really look at finishing the show, I am sure that the cast are talented enough to get other work and make other characters their own.

Mutterings...

Seen as teeveegirlee isn't operational at the moment, I guess this is the home of all that I do, to be quite honest I am getting a little of the withdrawal symptoms about not talking about what I have watched and what I'm looking forward to. I do have a tendency, like my chocolate to make sure I try it at least once, so when I found out that True Blood was going to be shown on Sky's FX soon, I have made sure that it is ready to watch it....I also have a whole load of DVD's to watch but I guess that will be there for another time.

I seem to hit a wall with the knitting and cross stitching - I'm hoping that it will pass because I feel that is quite a lot I haven't finished!

Looking at groups during the day for knitting /cross stitch/embroidery because I think it would be nice if I got out more than I have been doing.......and I'm still looking.

Current TV watched:

Sonic X: the cartoon. A Very much stylized on the Japanese animes with big eyes and talking animals this character Sonic first came to the public's attention in the video game Sonic the hedgehog from Sega's Mega Drive, which is where I first encountered it. It was there to compete with Nintendo's Mario the plumber. Sonic's following has grown since the 90's, with merchandise from toys to comics to clothing.

Looking from this, to this

and there also the phenomenon that is cosplay, first started in Japan, this is an opportunity to dress up like your favourite characters whether it is in tv, film, video games or manga.
